Instructions for Authors

Oral presentations

All talks are scheduled for 30 minute time slots. Please prepare a 25 minute talk to leave 5 minutes for questions. Authors of short papers who opted for shorter presentation will have a 20 minutes slot. The seminar room has a computer. If you'd like to use it please upload your slides before the start of the session in which you are talking. You can also use your own laptop if you'd prefer.

Poster presentations

The posters this year will be presented electronically only. They will most likely be displayed on very large interactive screens, which will allow you additional materials which you will be able to scale dynamically. The space allocated for each poster is about the size of an A1 poster for your poster, and the same for your additional materials.

Please send your poster and additional materials via email to the workshop chairs. Posters should be in high resolution PNG image format.

Camera-ready copies

The program committee worked hard to ensure that each paper received at least three reviews. Please thank them for their effort by taking their comments into consideration in preparing the final version of your paper.

The page limits remain the same: Full papers should not exceed eight (8) pages plus any (reasonable) number of additional pages consisting of only references. Short papers (posters) should not exceed four (4) pages of content plus any (reasonable) number of additional pages consisting of only references.

Camera-ready copies must be in PDF format. Please submit your camera-ready copy through EasyChair.

Submissions

All submissions should follow the ACL 2013 style guidelines and must be in PDF format. Full paper submissions should not exceed eight (8) pages plus any (reasonable) number of additional pages consisting of only references. Short paper submissions should not exceed four (4) pages of content plus any (reasonable) number of additional pages consisting of only references.

We strongly recommend the use of ACL LaTeX style files or Microsoft Word Style files tailored for this year's conference. The style files and example documents are available below:

Latex Word
 acl2013.tex  acl2013.doc
 acl2013.sty  acl2013.dot
 acl2013-tex.pdf  acl2013.pdf
 acl2013.bst

We reserve the right to reject submissions that do not conform to these styles including font and page size restrictions.

The submission format is PDF. If this introduces problems, please contact the organisers beforehand.

If we cannot print your file by the submission date we reserve the right to reject it without review. Therefore you are encouraged to send an early version with the typographical complexity of your final intended version so that we can check it is printable.

Blind Review Policy

Reviewing of papers will be double-blind. Therefore, the paper must not include the authors' names and affiliations. Furthermore, self-references that reveal the author's identity, e.g., "We previously showed (Smith, 1991) ..." must be avoided. Instead, use citations such as "Smith (1991) previously showed ...". Papers that do not conform to these requirements will be rejected without review.

Electronic Submission

Please submit your paper through EasyChair.

Double Submission Policy

Papers presented at ALTA should consist mainly of new material that has not been previously published. Submission of similar papers to ALTA and another journal, conference, or workshop must be disclosed on the electronic submission form.
